KAHIKI TIKI SHADOW BOX
Kahiki Supper Club in Columbus, Ohio, was one of the most famous tiki restaurant gems in the world. The gigantic Polynesian pop culture building stood for about 40 years, and hearts were broken when it closed in 2000. Though this structural masterpiece was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997, it was destroyed to make way for a Walgreen's Drug Store. Artist Dan Cunningham's stunning tribute to the Kahiki is this lovely one of a kind wooden shadow box
that he has intricately hand carved and stained with images of tikis that actually existed when the building stood. His beautiful tasseled braidwork and wickered matting within the box creates the complimentary setting for an authentic vintage Kahiki Tiki swizzle drink stick, an authentic Kahiki post card, and an autnetic Kahiki box of matches, lovely preserved behind glass. 14"x11"x3"
$275
